ORF theme focus on the new government: with a fishing, “The Interview”, “Report Special” & Dittlbacher documentary
After the general assembly of the NEOs approved the government agreement, Austria will receive a new government on Monday, March 3, 2025, formed from ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS. ORF 2 shows the log in the Hofburg at 10.45 a.m. as part of a 90-minute “ZIB Special” live. From 8:15 p.m. in ORF 2, a theme evening on the new federal government is on the program, the “Das Interview” with the new government leadership, a “Report Special” (21.10 p.m.), the Fritz-Dittlbacher documentary “Images of a list” (9:45 p.m.) and a “ZIB 2”.
ORF III also deals intensively on Monday with the engagement of the new federal government, the presentation in front of the National Council and the next steps. In “ORF III Aktuell” (9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and in “ORF III currently in the afternoon” (4 p.m. to 5 p.m.), leading experts as well as political observers: inside the country the future triple coalition.

The government program of the first ÖVP-SPÖ-NEOS coalition is extensive, the projects are ambitious. But what can be implemented, given a not inconsiderable budget hole? A liberal party in Austria has never been in a government, now the Neos has managed to become part of the first three coalition. The pinks understand themselves as reformers and see themselves as a party of progress. Already when it was founded they wanted to “raise wings”. However, due to the budget position, only a renovation course will be based on the ÖVP and SPÖ in the next few years. After the punishment of the FPÖ to move into the Chancellery for the first time, wounds have to be licked and targeting new goals. The elections in Vienna are imminent and so the Viennese Blauen have chosen the Gallic village as the motto of their carnival parade. When Asterix and Obelix disguised, the party groups around Dominik Nepp in Simmering demonstrate their resistance to the majority of Red Vienna. While the triple coalition is to be praised quickly before the carnival day in order to avoid involuntary comedy, criticism is already in the blue ranks. Karl Nehammer, Andreas Babler, Beate Meinl -Reisinger – the coalition negotiations started in this line -up. After NEOS left the negotiating table, the ÖVP got out of the negotiations shortly afterwards. Karl Nehammer resigned as a chancellor and ÖVP party leader, Christian Stocker has taken over. At the table with him: Herbert Kickl. This constellation is also broken, including mutual blame. And now ÖVP-SPÖ-Neos. Fritz Dittlbacher stated what happened behind the scenes in these five months.
