Vienna (OTS) – The STELLA Performing Arts Prize for Young Audiences was awarded for the first time in 2007 and is the first Austria-wide prize for outstanding achievements in the performing arts for young audiences. STELLA is an initiative of ASSITEJ Austria, the umbrella organization of the Austrian performing arts scene for young audiences. It is intended to show the potential, creativity and versatility of this genre. The four-member jury voted for the STELLA*24 Barbara Carli, Helen Isaacson, Götz Leineweber and Danielle Strahm-Fendt received a total of 24 nominations in 5 categories out of. The nominations cover productions from 17 different Austrian theater groups and houses from seven federal states, which brought outstanding productions for children and young people to the stage with their ensembles in 2023. The Awarding of the STELLA*24 takes place on Friday November 22nd, 2024 in the presence of prominent guests and laudators from business, politics and culture in Carinthia. Theaters, groups and individuals from Carinthia, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg and Vienna are nominated. These nominees include three international collaborations with Uganda, Switzerland and the Netherlands. In the days before that, from November 18th to 22nd, 2024 In the categories “Outstanding Production for Children” and “Outstanding Production for Young People” the nominated pieces were shown as part of a festival in the Bambergsaal Villach, the Neue Bühne Villach, the Kammerspiele Klagenfurt and the Ventil Klagenfurt, among others.

JUNGLE VIENNA is an international production house for performing arts for young audiences. The program includes dance, drama, performance, puppet and musical theater as well as events for exchange and discourse. The formats Next Generation, MAGMA and the digital stage GL!TCH4 enable the promotion and participation of young artists and authors. In year-round theater workshops, children and young people make their own theater with artists. In one season, the theater presents 60 productions for children, young people and young adults on three stages.
