Today Mag. Corinna Scharzenberger Ordered the first director in the history of the Austrian Farmers’ Association by the Bauernbund Presidium. The 34-year-old lawyer follows Ing. Mag. David Süßthat has headed the farmers’ association since 2022. The Ennstaler was able to gain political experience in Vienna as a member of the National Council from 2019 to 2024. In the future, Süß will devote himself to his new task as mayor in Schrems in the Waldviertel. He succeeded in reducing the granite and beer city after more than 100 years of the SPÖ tour and winning the municipal council election. He is also the first farmer in the mayor’s chair in the 5,000-inhabitant city. His official election is scheduled to take place in the constituent meeting of the local council on March 6th.

Corinna Scharzenberger is rooted in the JVP and in the ÖAAB, not least because of her work as legal officer of the agricultural district authority, agricultural specialist knowledge in her home district, which she carried out from 2013 to 2024. Since October 2024 she has worked as a lawyer in the Styrian People’s Party. For the first time in 2017, she was nominated by the People’s Party for the National Council election. In 2019 she moved into the National Council and during this time worked as a member of the Data Protection Council of the Ministry of Justice and in three parliamentary committees of investigation as secretary. In addition to her professional and political activity, the Ennstaler is an enthusiastic farmer and hunter.
