The Vienna election in 2025 has brought great encouragement for green city policy. At 14.5%, not only the record result from 2020 was almost discontinued, but a historical success was celebrated with the winning of a fourth district head. Overall, voters have spoken out for the connection between climate protection and social justice. With the coalition negotiations between the SPÖ and Neos announced by Mayor Ludwig today, however, the despondent and pale politics of recent years has been extended. “Vienna has been a lot, but rarely brave in the past five years. This path is now to be continued. Five another year Rot-Pink mean that there will still be no brave, big solutions for Vienna,” said Judith Pühringer and Peter Kraus, party leader Green Vienna.
Greens strengthened for constructive opposition
“We stand for consequent and constructive opposition policy and will continue to put our ideas and suggestions on the table. For large future projects and concrete improvements in everyday life, we will be strong partners for all Viennese,” says Pühringer and Kraus – and finally: “The Viennese can still rely on the fact that we remain a loud voice for affordable living, real climate protection for everyone Children.”
