Concern for the “important pillar” of health care

The fact that the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) itself expects a minus of 800 million for 2025 and also does not exclude bankruptcy by employee representative Andreas Huss is incomprehensible for the President of the Austrian Medical Association (Öäk), Johannes Steinhart: ” I am somewhat amazed at the ÖGK’s financial management and at the same time worry about an important pillar of health care in Austria. This pillar, if the expected figures also meet reality, is faithful, ”said Steinhart in a first reaction on Monday and asked those responsible to quickly do their homework and ensure the necessary financial injection.

In this context, Steinhart also referred to the press conference of the resident medical profession next Wednesday (February 5, 10.30 a.m. in the Austrian Medical Association), in which the top of the resident medical profession of the ÖÄK together with the curiads of the state medical associations in the cash register area.
