The community of Fusch an der Glocknerstrasse has achieved something important: the Salzburg relief organization’s community nurse project will continue even after the three-year EU funding officially expires – albeit in a reduced form.
Thanks to additional financial resources from the municipality, the basic supply can still be maintained, despite a significant reduction in funding: While previously 100% of the costs for the project were financed from EU money, the federal government is now only covering 60% of the financing. Now the municipality of Fusch is stepping in, so the offer is secured for 2025.
Assured care: 5.5 hours per week
In 2025, the community nursing service in Fusch will be available for 5.5 hours per week. This offer is particularly valuable for the population as it enables timely, preventative help and advice. Seniors, families and chronically ill people in particular benefit from the wide range of services.
Community Nurse Services
The community nurse supports the people in Fusch with advice, prevention and support:
- Advice: Support with health issues, organization of care and access to appropriate support services.
- Prevention: Early detection of health risks and active measures to prevent their development.
- Accompaniment: Help in everyday life to ensure that you live as long and independently as possible.
Doris Metzger, the community nurse in Fusch, is pleased to be able to continue the project:
“I am happy to be there for the Fuschers – be it with questions about getting older, organizing transport services or promoting social participation. You can reach me on 0676 8260 5672 or by email at cn.fusch@salzburger.hilfswerk.at.”
An indispensable offer for the region
The Salzburg Relief Organization’s community nurse project is an essential part of the quality of life in the community.
The mayor of Fusch, Hannes Schernthaner, emphasizes the importance of the project: “The health of our citizens is particularly important to me. Especially in our rural region, the community nurse project is an indispensable support for families, older people and the chronically ill. Even if the financial burden is noticeable, our goal was to continue to secure this offer in order to offer the people in Fusch the best possible quality of life.”
Sustainable health promotion in Fusch
The Salzburg relief organization emphasizes how important it is to support people in their familiar surroundings while at the same time conserving resources. With 5.5 hours per week, the Community Nurse project continues to provide a solid basis for sustainable health promotion and prevention in the community.
The continuation of this project shows how commitment at the local level can achieve long-term positive effects for the entire region.
With the Salzburg relief organization as a reliable partner, the municipality of Fusch is sending a strong signal for social responsibility and the promotion of quality of life locally.
