The commemoration of the people begins on Thursday with a wreath-laying ceremony by government leaders and Alexander Van der Bellen Novemberpogrome of the Nazis 85 years ago. The memory of the violent attacks on Jews on the night of November 10, 1938 also shaped the rest of the day: at 5 p.m. there will be a memorial event in Parliament, followed by the “Light of Hope” memorial march on Heldenplatz.
