What you don’t notice: We are not only in a year of Thomas Mann, but also in a Gilles Deleuze year (100th birthday was on January 18, 30th anniversary on November 4). It is about “difference and repetition”, as he called his habilitation thesis in 1968. In order to illustrate this practice, the Hamburg comic artist Martin Tom Dieck and the Berlin music journalist Jens Balzer 2000 “Salut, Deleuze!”: In this, the French post structure, who died in 1995, puts it over to the dead kingdom, where his somewhat early different friends Michel Foucault, Jacques Lacan and Roland Barthes await him. As is well known, you can only do this trip once – but Deleuze takes it five times, always with small variations.
In 2001, an expansion appeared: as a continuation comic on the “Berlin pages” of the “FAZ”, in which the famous “desired machine” is used. An expression that Deleuze with Felix Guattari invented in 1972 for her cult book “Anti-Odipus” as a counter-concept to friend’s “unconscious”, which was too authoritarian. They were against the rigid and for the flowing, which combined with everything instead of settled away with it. The ideal image was “rhizomatic thinking”, which propagated deleuze and Guattari: a non-linerary, non-hierarchy thinking that they imagined like a root network. That could be very creative and productive.
And now for the 100th birthday of Deleuze, another comic continuation of Dieck and Balzer has appeared: “Holy Deleuze!”, Which is brought out with the two predecessors of reproduct in the anthology. In the third part, two new guest stars appear: René Magritte and Sigmund Freud. With the latter go, Foucault, Lacan and Barthes are looking for mushrooms that you use as candles for the birthday cake, which you hand over to Deleuze with a famous saying by Lacan: “To love what you don’t have, to someone who doesn’t want it”.
Deleuze is mainly surprised that Freud came along, but then it turns out that he also indicated a fungal theory in the “dream interpretation” and is now also breeding mushroom mushrooms in the underworld. Deleuze is very pleased. In the end, the four social philosophers discovered something: “Friendship, that is the most difficult and also the most beautiful.”nd
