“Pure Routine” is the return to the screens for the top cops of “Soko Donau” when they appear again on Tuesdays at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 1 from October 1st, 2024 and every Monday at 8:15 p.m. on ORF ON from September 30th go on the hunt for criminals in new episodes of season 18. A veteran is also causing a stir behind the scenes, because the cowboy boots are polished, the sunglasses are unpacked, the hair is in place and the golden Opel Commodore is ready – and that can only mean one thing: Helmuth Nowak is back in town! During the filming of the 20th season of the ORF/ZDF crime hit, which is expected to last until mid-October, the cult investigator portrayed by Gregor Seberg is celebrating his “Soko Donau” comeback – and immediately with a promotion to the new head of the special unit Colonel Henriette Wolf (Brigitte Kren) says goodbye to her well-deserved pension during the 20th season.
In addition to challenging new cases, when he returns to work there is a reunion with old colleagues and getting to know colleagues who are new to him, because alongside Gregor Seberg and Brigitte Kren there is the tried and tested Viennese team of Andreas Kiendl, Martin Gruber, Maria Happel, Lilian Klebow and Max Fishlicker in front of the camera. Holger Barthel, Katharina Heigl and Sophie Allet-Coche are directing in the 20th season based on scripts by Michael Grießler, Natalia Geb, Sönke Lars Neuwöhner, Andreas Quetsch, Frank Weller, Markus Staender, Peter Dommaschk, Ralf Leuther, Martin Muser, Jens Schäfer, Dominik Enzi, Andreas F. Schiessler, Sophia Sixta, Sigrid Neudecker, Eva Testor and Eva Spreitzhofer are responsible. The total of 13 new episodes will be shown on ORF 1 in 2025. “Soko Donau” is a production by SATEL Film, in collaboration with ORF and ZDF, produced with the support of FISAplus, Fernsehenfonds Austria, the state of Lower Austria, the Cinestyria Filmcommission and Fonds as well the Film Commission Graz.
