On February 21, the “Come In!” Gallery will be opened in the new impulse district in Waidhofen an der Ybbs. With this gallery, the cultural networking of Lower Austria sets a clear sign to promote young visual artists. It starts with Scheibbs Valentina Ilazi, who was chosen by a specialist jury as one of three artists in the first half of 2025 to design their first solo exhibition in Waidhofen.
Lower Austria is a country in which many visual artists live and work. On the “days of the open studios” alone, over 1000 artists take part in autumn. But the young generation in particular often moves away from Lower Austria to work artistically in Vienna, Linz or abroad. In order to come into contact with the next generation as early as possible, the cultural networking of Lower Austria in the impulse district Waidhofen on the Ybbs created a gallery location where artists and artists between 14 and 29 years of age can present their work for the first time. The gallery name “Come In!” Is based on the youth promotion program of the state of Lower Austria “Come On”, which is processed by the cultural networking of Lower Austria. This has been promoting artistic projects of young people since 2007.
Start with a feminist look at society
The first exhibition is designed by Valentina Ilazi, born in 1999. Growing up in Scheibbs, she used photography early on as a means of documentation. She has further developed this access in the form of self -portraits. Her work is shaped by the interest in contemporary dance, the influence of which can be recognized by the physicality and performativity of your works. They combine these aspects with inseparable social connotations queer of feminist topics. Her work can be seen from Friday to Sunday from February 22 to March 23. The city gallery Waidhofen an der Ybbs is also open on these days, where works by Anna-Maria Bogner is also open are on display.

Sequel follows…
The “Come In!” Gallery offers five other artists in 2025 a room for experiments and at the same time an introduction to professional art. From April 4 to May 4, works of the Ukrainian Anastasia Masluk living in Waidhofen can be seen from April 4 to May 4th, as well as from May 15th to June 15th, installations of the Ayda Houshmandnia students in Linz. Until May 15th, young artists are invited to apply for the cultural networking of Lower Austria for the three exhibitions in the second half of the year. The selection is then made again by a specialist jury under the direction of the artist and curator Verena Mayrhofer, who has been supervising the field of visual arts in the cultural networking of Lower Austria since the beginning of the year.
