Colorful diversity in the Danube Gardens

From show garden days to autumn festivals and family days to the festival of fruit diversity: the six Donau Gardens present themselves from their most beautiful side in autumn. Not only can you marvel at the gardens, but you can also learn interesting facts about the flora and fauna or taste the variety of fruit.

Spitz, September 3rd, 2024 – All the work and effort during the year was not in vain, because now it’s time to admire and snack in the gardens to your heart’s content. Autumn is the time of harvest and enjoyment. As different as the Donau Gardens are, they all have one thing in common: gardens and natural landscapes maintained with great dedication and care.

Fall events

The beginning of the autumnal series of events in the Donau Gardens Eckartsau Castle on the weekend, September 14th and 15th. The Show garden days invite you to tours in the castle park at 2.30 p.m. on the topics of “natural gardening as well as medicinal and wild herbs”.

The festival of fruit diversity follows on Saturday, September 21st Alchemistenpark in Kirchberg am Wagram. With music, fruit tasting, variety identification and much more, the First Edible Community will celebrate its fruits from all over the world from 1:45 p.m.

Also on September 21st, “Nature in the Garden” will be taking place on the site of Europe’s first ecological garden show, THE GARDENS TULLNfor the autumn festival and at the same time celebrates “25 years of nature in the garden” with a colorful program. On this occasion, visitors can also purchase seeds in the shop that come directly from plants on the site.

On the occasion of “World Children’s Day”, the Danube-Auen National Park on Sunday, September 22nd, a colorful afternoon for families on the Schlossinsel Auerlebnis area. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., visitors big and small can expect interesting stations on the lives of the animal children and their parents, as well as performances by the traveling Autheater.

The last weekend of September, September 28th and 29th, is up Hof Castlestarting at 10 a.m., all in keeping with the colorful season. The autumn program ranges from craft workshops for children to musical and culinary delicacies to handicrafts and carriage rides.

The Danube Gardens at a glance
