“Vienna is closely linked to viticulture: our wines are of the highest quality and are known all over the world, the city’s own winery Cobenzl contributes significantly to this,” emphasizes City Councilor Jürgen Czernohorszky. “I am all the more pleased that we can present our Cobenzl-Wines and Wiener Gusto products here on Rathausplatz!”
You can taste red and white wines, rose, mixed set, sparkling wines, splashes or “Cobenzl Specials” such as Aperol Spritz, Sarti Spritz or Wiener Dirndl and of course non-alcoholic grape juice. For the small hunger there are rolls in the Cobenzl lounge with Viennese Gusto wildlife cheese, according to the deputy head of the forestry and farm, Ing. Günther Annerl.
Wirts Wien Cobenzl
The Wien Cobenzl winery, owned by the city for almost 115 years, is one of the most important wineries in the region. It manages around 60 hectares of vineyards in Grinzing, Am Nussberg, in Sievering and on Bisamberg. Around 400,000 bottles of quality wine are made every year at the Wien Cobenzl winery. The offer ranges from traditional Viennese grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Wiener Mixed Set DAC to red wine varieties such as Pinot Noir and Blauer Zweigelt.
The Cobenzl winery received in 2024 – from the year 2023 – 31 gold medals at the Vienna State Weinvaluation, and the Cobenzl Wiener State winner with “Mixed Sekt Austria Reserve 2018 Brut” was also the Wiener State winner.
