The negotiations for a three-party coalition of ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS in the federal government have collapsed, and the NEOS are withdrawing from the talks. Party leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger announced this on Friday at a short-term press conference in Vienna. She informed party leaders Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) and Andreas Babler (SPÖ) as well as Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen of this decision on Friday morning. This was preceded by the realization that no breakthrough could be achieved with black and red. This week there were several votes against fundamental reforms.
