Climate rooms on tour

With backpack, bike and a lot of idealism across Austria: eight committed young adults have set off to the Nature lovers climate tour To share their visions for a better environment with people in all federal states for two weeks.

On July 11, the starting signal was given in Bregenz – the goal is Vienna, which you will reach on July 26th. The trip takes place on foot, by bike and by public transport. It is not just about making progress, but above all about the dialogue: “What is your climate dream?“ – This question accompanies the participants on their way.

In workshops, conversations and hands -on activities, they collect personal climate dreams from the population. For each contribution, nature lovers Austria donate 1 euro to one Climate protection project in Malibuilds up sustainable tree nurseries for more nutritional security. Anyone who wants to get involved in climate protection can also donate a symbolic euro and thus express their support. “A small sign here can have a big impact there,” said Günter Abraham, federal manager of Naturfreunde Austria.

Despite physical exertion, full of trains and small setbacks, the mood among the participants is positive. Daily reflections and joint activities such as yoga, climbing or conversations in nature not only strengthen the sense of community, but also show: Climate protection connects.

“We want to show that everyone can make a difference,” says the nature lover youth, who organized the tour together with the state organizations. “With our climate rooms we give young people a voice – and invite everyone to become part of this movement.”

Whether at the lake, in the city or on the summit – Austria is not only scenic on this tour from its most beautiful side, but also open to change. Because real change begins with an idea – and a step together in the right direction.
