With the musical excellence for which the Vienna Boys’ Choir is known all over the world, the Bruckner Choir under the direction of the Italian-born Manolo Cagnin captivated the Gars audience within just a few seconds. The spirited conductor and his ensemble served the guests a wealth of musical pearls across the centuries and genres of global music creation. The program included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s immortal “A Little Night Music”, Giuseppe Verdi’s brilliant prisoners’ choir from the opera “Nabucco” and the world-famous melody “O Fortuna, Ruler of the World” from Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” as well as Ennio Morricone’s film music hit “Nella Fantasia” and “Thank you for the Music” by all-time pop great ABBA.
A highly successful premiere by the Vienna Boys’ Choir in the Gars am Kamp festival venue, which was rewarded with enthusiastic applause from the audience – including Mayor Martin Falk and numerous personalities from Lower Austria and Vienna.

The next highlights of the KulturBURG include Intendant Clemens Unterreiner, who invites you to a reading dedicated to the Babenbergs and the Habsburgs with ORF III imperial house expert Katrin Unterreiner and the emperor’s great-great-grandson Leopold Altenburg (June 15).
Love, passion and an extra dose of Italo charm await on the spectacular and acoustically unamplified natural stage with Donizetti’s summer opera hit “The Love Potion” from July 13th – this year for the first time and unique among Austria’s festivals with an inclusive opera experience for blind and visually impaired people with live audio description As part of the regular love potion performance on August 1st.
