Clarification on the SPÖ press release regarding case conferences

Contrary to SPÖ leader Babler’s statement, case conferences are held regularly – the number of case conferences has quadrupled since 2021

Vienna (OTS) In a press release from the SPÖ on April 27, 2024 (SPÖ Federal Party Council (4) – Babler: “Want to set off and paint a positive picture” – SPÖ boss presents plan “With heart and brain”) the topic of the case conferences was taken up. SPÖ leader Andreas Babler criticized the abolition of case conferences.

The fact is, however, that the security police case conferences were designed as a networking measure reintroduced on January 1, 2020. Participants include representatives from the police, judiciary, violence protection institutions, but also authorities such as youth welfare or other organizations in the field of violence protection.

Quadrupling case conferences

In 2020, 25 case conferences were held, and in the following year there were already 57 case conferences. Since then, the number of case conferences held has increased significantly: 209 conferences were held in 2022 and 234 in 2023. In the current year, 59 case conferences were held up to and including March 31, 2024. These figures make it clear that the number of security police case conferences has quadrupled since 2021.
