On March 2nd at 6 p.m. on ORF 2
Vienna (OTS) – Peter Resetarits will present the following contributions in the program “Citizen Attorney” on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 6 p.m. on ORF 2:
Burst water pipe under a car – bad luck for the vehicle owner or is compensation due?
Two burst water pipes in Vienna in November caused extensive damage, including to parked cars. In the specific case, on the Fiat 500 of a family on Demuthgasse in Vienna Ottakring. Surprisingly, they found out that the damage was not covered by the insurance of the municipal department 31, Wiener Wasser. Attorney Gaby Schwarz is still of the opinion that compensation should be paid.
Snow on the sidewalk: What to do if the road service keeps pushing snow onto the cleared sidewalk?
According to the road traffic regulations, the owners of a property must clear and scatter snow from the sidewalk between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. It is all the more annoying when the road administration’s winter service repeatedly throws the icy, hard-packed snow from the street onto the cleared sidewalk. Do the residents also have to remove this snow and how often can the winter service fill up the sidewalk? The Ombudsman is taking on a case in Pressbaum that exemplifies the problem faced by many homeowners in Austria.
Motorcycle accident that was not your fault: Is the at-fault driver’s liability insurance trying to get away cheaply?
Ms. L. sent an email to the “Citizen Lawyer” editorial team: “I need your help urgently and promptly! On March 23, 2023, my friend and I had a serious motorcycle accident through no fault of our own that had major consequences for both of us. To date, the opposing insurance company has only paid a fraction of my treatment costs. I’m now really exhausted both physically and mentally.” The editorial team has taken on the case.
