On February 10th at 6 p.m. on ORF 2
Vienna (OTS) – Peter Resetarits will present the following contributions in the program “Citizens’ Lawyer” on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 6 p.m. on ORF 2:
Is a municipality not meeting its payment obligations?
In 2017, the municipality of Pressbaum had new water and sewer pipes laid on the B. family’s property and committed to paying almost 7,000 euros annually, including index adjustment, for this easement. Mr B. now claims that the municipality is in default. The mayor of Pressbaum argues that the municipality discovered a double transfer in 2017. The B. family asked Ombudsman Gaby Schwarz for help, who discussed the matter in the studio with the Pressbaum community lawyer.
Flooding due to embankment and unauthorized piping on neighboring property
Mr. E. is annoyed that mudslides and pollution regularly occur in his garden in Allhaming in Upper Austria after heavy rain events. The reason for this is earth filling in the course of the construction of the neighboring postal distribution center and piping on the neighboring property without consensus. The Ombudsman’s Office has criticized the building authority’s actions. Is there a solution for Mr. E. following a decision by the State Administrative Court?
Conveyor belt across the Danube?
There have been discussions about the disused part of the Donauuferbahn in Nibelungengau for years. A citizens’ initiative is calling for reactivation, and many residents welcome the abandonment of the route. Now a new conflict arises: the Loja hard stone factory wants to transport its material across the Danube in the future. By conveyor belt – 1.2 kilometers long, from Persenbieg to Krummnußbaum.
Protest against supermarket
A supermarket is to be built in the center of Ossiach. There is nothing wrong with setting up a local supplier, say critics of the project. But the location in one of the most beautiful, undeveloped spots on the lake, in the immediate vicinity of the famous monastery, was chosen incorrectly. “Citizen Attorney” reported on the conflict. A decision has now been made by the State Administrative Court.
