Vienna (OTS) – Christina Sturmer is the first female artist in German-speaking countries to be invited by MTV to record an album. She is now delighting the audience with her unplugged ensemble: she is presenting her numerous hits in the Vienna Volkstheater in sometimes delicate, sometimes colorfully packaged, but previously unheard acoustic garb. “Christina Sturmer – MTV Unplugged in Vienna” shows the highlights of this special evening of music – including special duet arrangements with Wolfgang Ambros (“You are wia de Wintasun”) and Mathea (“Scherbenmeer”) – on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 10.30 p.m. on ORF 1.
The young Linzer native sang her way to second place in the ORF casting show “Starmania” in 2003. 20 years later, Christina Sturmer looks back on a successful career – with seven number 1 albums, eleven Amadeus Awards, countless other awards, hundreds of sold-out concerts – and now also an MTV Unplugged album. “Christina Sturmer – MTV Unplugged in Vienna” was recorded at the Vienna Volkstheater, visually captured by Ingo Pertramer, musically directed by Tobias Kuhn, accompanied by her band, a wind ensemble, a four-piece backing choir, a pianist and a vibraphonist.
