Beijing, March 5, 2024 (ots/PRNewswire) – As chief physician of Anhui Provincial Hospital, Liu Lianxin advocates for a better medical and health service system in China. Liu, who is also a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), put forward a proposal to adjust the cost of medical services last year.
His concerns caught the attention of authorities and further action was taken to address issues such as overtreatment and overcharging. Mechanisms for dynamically adjusting medical service prices have been established in all provincial-level regions, and medical service pricing has been placed under state supervision and management.

He made the remarks at the opening session of the second session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC in Beijing while delivering a work report.
“The National Committee of the CPPCC is committed to serving the people, with the members of the CPPCC serving the people based on reality,” Wang continued.
He added that in-depth research has been carried out in various areas of interest to the population, such as: B. in relation to the expansion of high-quality medical resources, employment and education.
The work report also outlined the main tasks of the CPPCC National Committee for 2024, calling for it to remain at the forefront to learn first-hand the wishes and demands of the people as well as the difficulties in implementing policies.
Proposals accepted in politics
During the year, members of the CPPCC have actively put forward proposals, and many of their concerns have been taken into account in Chinese policy.
A total of 5,621 proposals were submitted. According to Wang, of the 4,791 registered suggestions, 99.9 percent were processed.
Economic development is a primary concern of CPPCC members. Within a year, over 2,200 proposals were put forward to build a high-level socialist market economy system and promote comprehensive opening-up.
The action plan to deepen the reform and modernization of state-owned enterprises adopted proposals to accelerate the construction of world-class enterprises and optimize the distribution and structural adjustment of state capital.
