Since July 1, 2004, there is the possibility in Austria to take advantage of parenting; A measure that women in particular like to use in particular: according to the study “parenting time in Austria”, commissioned by the Vienna Chamber of Labor and published in 2018, there is a clear gender distribution in using parent time: 21% are mothers and 7% fathers; The number of mothers who use parenting time is three times as high as those of the fathers. The sociologist and study author Bettina Stadler will explain on the basis of current labor market data, which has changed since 2018.
Laura Hofbauer, entrepreneur and auditor for the certification of family -friendly companies, will show that family friendliness is not a one -way street and why the participation of fathers is worthwhile for the company or the employer. Christoph Winter, sales manager at Lidl and for almost three years in parent-time, talks about his experience as a father in professional and private life.
