Church marriages are trendy. The sacrament of marriage is booming like it hasn’t been for a long time. In 2023, almost 1,000 marriages took place in the Archdiocese of Vienna. Marriage seminars prepare you for the journey to the altar.
“There is no easy formula for the success of a good relationship. Rather, it is a life project that must be continually worked on,” emphasizes Dr. Stephan Fraß-Poindl, team leader responsible for marriage preparation in the Archdiocese of Vienna. His area is responsible for ensuring that all couples who plan to marry in church are sensitively and competently prepared for the sacrament of marriage and are aware of the implications of their decision.
Accompaniment and support
For couples who get married in church, the marriage seminar provides accompaniment and support in preparing for the sacrament of marriage. Accompaniment regarding the decision to get married in church and an opportunity to consciously look at relationship issues. The participating couples also receive suggestions and tips for organizing their church wedding.
Each seminar is led by a couple who have been married in the church for several years, have received appropriate training and would like to pass on their experiences. The classic marriage seminar lasts one day or a few evenings. If you want to prepare a little more intensively, entire weekends are also organized. Offers in English, online and correspondence courses can also be booked.
