Yesterday, Erwin van Lambaart, General Director of Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries, was voted CEO of the Year by an expert jury at the Global Gaming Awards.
Vienna (OTS) – The Global Gaming Awards EMEA are presented by leading B2B gaming publication Gambling Insider and independently assessed by KPMG in each country. A total of 23 executives from the European gaming industry were nominated in the “Executive of the Year” category. The shortlist was determined from the submissions through extensive research and consultations with independent industry experts, and the selection itself was then made by an international jury of experts.
Erwin van Lambaart, General Director of Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries: “I am very pleased about this award, which is also a valuable confirmation from the industry of our corporate course, which will allow us to focus even more on our corporate value and experiences, especially in the post-Corona period focus on what we offer our guests and customers. Our guests, game participants and customers are our focus and their safety and well-being are our top priority. I would also like to thank my board colleague Martin Škopek, all employees and shareholders who have successfully supported this course. We are always aware of our social responsibility and have set important priorities here, as we did most recently in 2023 with Playsponsible, our social responsibility program.”
Mariya Savova, Event Manager, Global Gaming Awards, said: “It is a great achievement to be recognized by your industry peers for your hard work and dedication. In the case of Erwin van Lambaart, this is of course a well-deserved award and we warmly congratulate him on behalf of our entire team! He has achieved so much throughout his career in the gaming industry and is a real asset to our industry. I am sure that he will continue to lead Casinos Austria and the Austrian Lotteries to new heights, while as Chairman of the ECA he will also support the European gaming sector in the best possible way.”
In 2024, the gaming industry’s most prestigious awards were presented in London for the seventh time. This year’s event was doubly exciting from an Austrian perspective; Casino Baden was also on the shortlist for the “Casino of the Year” award. The Global Gaming Awards EMEA recognizes and rewards the best performing companies in the gaming industry over the past 12 months, with a focus on the EMEA region. These are the most prestigious awards in the international gaming industry.

There are 3 Global Gaming Awards per year, recognizing the best performances in 3 regions – EMEA, Asia Pacific and the Americas. The EMEA edition of the Global Gaming Awards, held at London’s Hippodrome Casino, recognizes operators, suppliers and individuals who have made their mark on the gaming industry in the EMEA region over the last 12 months.
Each company and individual is shortlisted for a specific reason, which is publicly announced. The winners will be selected from 50 executives with extensive experience in the EMEA industry, with only one executive per company allowed to take part in the jury.
