Bundesheer: Hunting command receives a new diving base

On July 4, 2025, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner, together with the mayor of Neufeld, Michael Lampel, opened the new diving base of the Austrian Army on Lake Neufeld. The new diving base at Lake Neufelder was completed on time after nine months of construction. It replaces a dilapidated old building and offers the Federal Army on 550 m² modern infrastructure for training and use. The two-storey building in solid construction houses in addition to residence and training rooms, but also a boat garage with direct access to the lake. A new wooden bridge system, a thermally insulated building envelope, underfloor heating and an air-water heat pump ensure contemporary comfort and energy efficiency. Rain and roof waters are seeped through or led directly to the lake. With the investment of 2.5 million euros, a functional, sustainable new building was created, which fulfills all the needs of the Bundesheer to train the fighter swimmers and pioneering divers in the basics.
