The FPÖ and ÖVP have agreed on a common budget path. Accordingly, an EU deficit procedure should be avoided, as Freedom Party leader Herbert Kickl announced on Monday in a joint press conference with VP chairman Christian Stocker. Specifically, around 6.4 billion should be saved in 2025 and without new taxes, as Kickl emphasized. According to Stocker, the deficit will be below three percent of GDP again. Consolidation takes place over seven years.
