BRZ Femcareer Day: IT expert in the spotlight

Women are still underrepresented in the IT industry. Traditional gender roles, missing models, unfavorable working conditions or the lack of compatibility of family and work are according to the AMS reasons for thisthat women gain less foothold in the IT environment.

The BRZ showed the Femcareer Day, which took place on February 27, and offered a stage at the Femcareer Day. The goal: to present successful women as role models, to sketch career opportunities and ways into the IT industry and to raise awareness that women in IT can be successful in all fields of activity. Networking with each other is also a recipe for success for starting IT and was part of the BRZ Femcareer Day.

BRZ experts as role models for women and girls

BRZ employees were on stage at the Femcareer Day and gave insights into their professional career. Including Barbara Keck, Senior Technical Consultant for Artificial Intelligence in the BRZ, the different childrenInnovation projects implements and actively accompanies strategic development in the field of data and AI. “Women should be brave and believe in their skills. The IT industry offers many options. To be successful, you should not only be inspired by others, but also form networks ”she gave the participants.

Ann Kathrin Blanke showed that career changers are also successful in IT. She moved from the international project management environment 2020 to the BRZ and, as a SAP-Solution, is a manager for the further development of various SAPSolutions in personnel management. “My tip is not to be discouraged by the idea that it is a ‘men’s profession’. Women bring valuable perspectives and problem -solving approaches that are important for the team. Good teams are heterogeneous and learn from each other. It does not count the gender, but the strengths and the will to get involved ”is convinced.

In personal conversations after the keynotes, a total of 15 women from various areas of the BRZ were available for questions and career tips.

Women successful in all IT areas

“No matter whether artificial intelligence, data science, project and solution management, Java development or SAP advice. Women are successful in all areas in all areas and implement projects from which all people in Austria benefit. Our colleagues are role models for other women and girls and show that success in IT is not a question of gender ”is convinced of the organizer and head of the Talent Acquisition & Development team in the BRZ, Elisabeth Triebert. Women’s promotion in the BRZ

The internal support of women to increase equal opportunities and diversity has been in the BRZ for years.
