Vienna (OTS/RK) The “Vienna Film Archive of the Workers’ Movement, WIFAR” (20., Wallensteinstrasse 68-72, Staircase 1, access: courtyard side) announces its next performances: On Thursday, February 15th, from 3 p.m., the American film comedy “Being or Not Being” and the Austrian TV production “Der Herr Karl” will be shown from 6 p.m. Admission to both performances in the WIFAR room is free, donations are welcome. In 1961, the revealing monologue “Herr Karl” (length: 65 minutes, director: Erich Neuberg, book: Carl Merz and Helmut Qualtinger, actor: Helmut Qualtinger) was broadcast on national television for the first time. A warehouse worker looks back on his life story and turns out to be a sniveling and complacent opportunist and egoist.

The film “To be or not to be” from 1942 (duration: 93 minutes, director: Ernst Lubitsch, script: Edwin Justus Mayer, main roles: Carole Lombard and Jack Benny) tells the story of an acting troupe in occupied Warsaw that supports the National Socialists wants to escape in a cunning way.
