“Both sides live” today with Kern, Brunner, Hanke, Knill, Felbermayr, Treichl – 8:10 p.m. on Puls 24 & Joyn
Vienna (OTS) –

Today at 8:10 p.m. Thomas Mohr On puls 24 & Joyn top -class interviews with decisive voices of Austrian politics and business on the program. They were led by PULS 24-information director Corinna Milborn. Among other things, she interviews Migration Commissioner Magnus Brunner (ÖVP), ex-Federal Chancellor Christian Kern (SPÖ), Infrastructure Minister Peter Hanke (SPÖ), IV President Georg Knill, bank manager Andreas Treichl and WiFo director Gabriel Felbermayr. Topics are migration and refugee policy ten years after the 2015 refugee crisis, Europe’s infrastructure and climate goals as well as economic development.

Ex-Chancellor Christian Kern (SPÖ), then ÖBB boss, does not look back on 2015:
“Today we have the habit of looking at this as a primal catastrophe. I think it was something else: it was a great moment of a great moment of the second republic. (…) The fact that there were a number of omissions afterwards and still exists today, we do not need to discuss this.”

EU migration commissioner Magnus Brunner sees the year more critical:
“Europe has taken on enormous responsibility without having a system. And that is exactly our problem now.”

Infrastructure Minister Peter Hanke on climate requirements and climate goals

Hanke (SPÖ) sees clear goals as a necessity in climate policy and is in favor of the EU’s always questioned goal of no longer allowing a burner from 2035: “2035 is set for me in 2035.” He also speaks for a concrete CO₂ saving goal in the traffic sector: “Yes, you need clear goals to work.”

There are also excerpts from interviews with the President of the Industrial Association, Georg Knill, WiFo director Gabriel Felbermayr, and the chairman of the supervisory board of the first foundation, Andreas Treichl.
