Every year, more than 1,000 Austrians are diagnosed with leukemia, most of them chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and around 500 with bone marrow cancer (multiple myeloma). Successful research and innovative therapies offer patients new hope in extending their lives with a good quality of life and even a cure.
In September, Blood Cancer Awareness Month, educational events take place across Europe. The Living with Cancer Association is offering a free online information event for patients, relatives and interested parties on Thursday, September 26, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. OA Dr. Martin Schreder (Ottakring Clinic) gives an overview of new treatment methods for multiple myeloma and Prim. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Daniel Heintel (Horn Regional Hospital) talks about innovations in the field of treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. After a discussion, the experts will be available to answer questions.
