Birgit Gerstorfer proposed by board member for election to the association president

The Federal Executive Board of the Pensioners ‘Association of Austria (PVÖ) proposed today, Tuesday, Birgit Gerstorfer, State President of the PVÖ Upper Austria as a candidate for the election as President of the Pensioners’ Association of Austria. The official election according to the statutes of the PVÖ will take place on July 4 as part of an extraordinary association day. ****

“Birgit Gerstorfer would be the first president in the 76-year history of the PVÖ and is the best candidate for this position due to her qualification,” said interim president Helmut Bieler after the board meeting.

Birgit Gerstorfer, MBA has been the state president of the Pensioners Association of Upper Austria since 2023. Gerstorfer was the state manager of the AMS Upper Austria and has decades of experience in the political field, among other things, as the state party chairman of the SPÖ Upper Austria and social country councilor. She is a carrier of the great honor of the state of Upper Austria and the Barbara Prammer needle for special services in women’s policy. (Ending)
