Rheinmetall Dermalog SensorTec, the joint venture between the leading German biometrics provider DERMALOG and the technology group Rheinmetall, is presenting its latest innovations in cabin monitoring and vehicle access at InCabin 2024 in Barcelona from October 8th to 10th. For the first time, the focus is on a demonstration vehicle that combines the advanced systems for passenger and vehicle safety and will be demonstrated live at the exhibition stand.
The solutions shown include a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies to improve driving safety and comfort. With the Driver Monitoring System, drivers can be monitored in real time for fatigue and distractions, for example through smartphone use. If there are deviations, the driver is warned immediately, which significantly reduces the risk of an accident. This technology makes a significant contribution to road safety.
Another highlight is Seamless Access, which replaces the classic car key with facial recognition. This solution not only offers greater comfort, but also an additional level of security by preventing unauthorized access to the vehicle – “face instead of keys” is the motto here.
The airbag suppression technology will also be presented live for the first time. By using camera and radar systems, the system detects the position of the front passenger and can prevent the airbag from being deployed in critical situations, such as incorrect sitting posture or if there are children in the vehicle. This provides additional protection inside the vehicle.
The core of all Rheinmetall Dermalog SensorTec solutions is the innovative fusion of camera and radar technologies as well as artificial intelligence for the precise monitoring of vehicle occupants. This combination enables even more precise detection of behavioral patterns and thus contributes to greater security.
Visitors to InCabin 2024 have the opportunity to experience the pioneering technologies live at Rheinmetall Dermalog SensorTec’s stand 5.
