Cannabis and e-sports: At first glance an unusual duo. But Berlin International Gaming (BIG) and GreenMedical, subsidiary of the CKM Group, show that it is not about lifestyle, but about health. With the innovative partnership, companies want to educate together about the advantages of medical cannabis and digital health offers, reduce common prejudices and convey fundamental facts. The partnership was mediated by the Berlin Gaming and E-Sport agency Freaks 4U Gaming.
Digital offer to relieve the health system
The quality of health care in Germany has decreased, among other things, due to overload, lack of staff and increasing costs. Many doctors are also not sufficiently informed about medical cannabis or simply neglect this natural medication. GreenMedical creates a low -threshold and safe access and simplifies the step from diagnosis to treatment by networking doctors and patients.
GreenMedical enables uncomplicated and quick support for doctors resident in Germany, a digital transmission of the recipes and access to high -quality medical cannabis. The company thus closes the gap to an effective form of therapy that is too rarely used due to an overloaded health system, especially in rural regions.
Christoph Neumeier, founder and Managing Director of GreenMedical, for cooperation: “With BIG we gain a partner who stands for performance, community and modern health culture, i.e. our values. We close a gap in knowledge here: medical cannabis is not lifestyle, but an effective medication that has so far been used too little. Our approach offers the lowest -threshold and at the same time secure access – completely digitally supported and accompanied by a doctor. Together with black market scannabis.
Cannabis is not the same as cannabis
As part of the partnership, GreenMedical appears especially at the Big Counter Strike team. Big opens its community via various activations in the form of giveaways, branding and other engagements and creates content in the usual authentic nature. Due to the proximity to the digital world and a common openness to new, important topics, the partnership offers the perfect platform and starting point to do educational work in this important target group. There is a crucial difference between uncontrolled black market products and standardized, medically tested drugs.
Greenmedical conveys this knowledge and shows that cannabis should not be understood as a lifestyle product, but as a serious therapy option with high quality standards. Together with BIG, you can reach a young, digital-affine target group that is sensitized to responsible use.
“As one of the leading e-sports organizations in Germany, we also bring socially relevant topics to our community”, says Daniel Finkler, CEO of Big. “With GreenMedical, we have found a partner who stands for modern, digital health solutions and supports educational work on medical cannabis. Together we, as a pioneer in German e-sports and gaming, set a clear sign of complementary, responsible therapies. We are very much looking forward to the upcoming joint steps and campaigns.”
Since partialization in 2024 by the Medical Cannabis Act (Medcang), the German market has grown rapidly: from around EUR 185 million sales (2021) to over EUR 450 million (2024). Despite existing challenges, Germany is one of the largest and most dynamic markets for medical cannabis worldwide today. With their innovative partnership, BIG and GreenMedical set a clear sign of education in this area.
