Bible TV has acquired the radiation rights of the Christian “God Friended Me”, which was characterized by Warner Bros. Discovery. The series about a blogger, which is stimulated via mysterious social media posts for charity and Christian action, was produced in the USA between 2018 and 2020 and consists of 42 episodes in two seasons. Bible TV will take the new series on the program in October under the German title “God Friended Me – The Friendship request” and radiate in double consequences on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. In addition, “God Friended Me” will also be shown in the media library.
“God Friended Me – The Friendship request”: The convinced atheist and Podcaster Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) is the son of a priest and lives in New York City. He receives a friendship request from an unknown sender who calls himself “God” via Facebook. Miles answers the request and gradually becomes his right hand: he begins to interfere in the lives and fates of the people in his next environment in a positive sense and to change something. He receives the “orders” from his Facebook friend “God” in the form of friend suggestions for people who live in his surroundings and need his help. – The series addresses the question of God’s existence in the digital age and plays with the area of tension between faith and science.
