Berlin (ots) The dpa business editorial team will have a new editorial director, Benedikt von Imhoff (43), from January 1st. The previous regional office manager for North West Europe, based in London, succeeds Jörg Fiene (53), who is leaving Germany’s largest news agency at the end of October and moving to Volkswagen.

dpa editor-in-chief Sven Gösmann about the new economics boss: “Benedikt von Imhoff is one of our top journalists at dpa. He has a lot of experience, especially in economic reporting, for example as head of our teams that reported on the World Economic Forum in Davos. Also on his In his post in London, he has repeatedly highlighted the consequences of Brexit for the United Kingdom. He will provide the dpa economy with important new impulses. He can build on the good work of his predecessor Jörg Fiene, whose departure we very much regret.

Born in Cologne in 1980, von Imhoff has headed the dpa London office and the dpa team in Great Britain and Scandinavia for four years. He already worked as a service manager in the Berlin dpa business editorial team. Previously, he was one of the dpa’s Moscow correspondents and district editor in Chemnitz. After studying middle and modern history, modern sinology and political science in Heidelberg and Beijing, Benedikt von Imhoff also volunteered at the dpa.
