BECK and Dietrich’s join forces

BECK and Dietrich’s join forces

BECK, leading manufacturer of fastening systems, and Dietrich’s, specialist for software solutions in timber construction, announce the integration of BECK’s LIGNOLOC® wooden nails into the timber construction software from Dietrich’s DC-Statik. LIGNOLOC® wooden nails from BECK are included in the horizontal statics and can be fully calculated.

This makes the precise dimensioning of wooden frame walls and wooden beam ceilings for building reinforcement easier than ever before, because LIGNOLOC® impresses compared to conventional fastening systems with higher corrosion resistance, better thermal protection, tool-friendly reworkability, and a warm, natural aesthetic.

LIGNOLOC® from BECK is the first machine-processable wooden nail that can be used to connect wood to wood to wood – without any metal, glue or adhesives. When shooting with the specially developed pneumatic nailers or nail heads, a permanent connection is created through lignin adhesion due to the frictional heat: the wooden nails bond inextricably to the material. Different variants of LIGNOLOC® enable a wide range of applications and offer a completely sustainable solution for modern timber construction projects that meets the highest ecological standards.

Version 25 of Dietrich’s timber construction software enables load distribution and dimensioning of timber frame walls and timber beam ceilings directly on the building model. This makes it easy to quickly define load-bearing areas and automatically determine wind loads for any floor plan.

“The integration of our innovative LIGNOLOC® wooden nails into DC-Static makes the countless possibilities for using these particularly sustainable fasteners in timber construction visible,” explains Dipl.-Ing. Stefan Siemers, Director of Research & Development at BECK. “The collaboration with Dietrich’s strengthens our claim to create sustainably innovative solutions for the construction industry.”

With Dietrich’s it is also possible to use LIGNOLOC® wooden nails in the planning area. This means that BECK’s shootable wooden nail can be integrated right from the start into projects that focus on sustainability and efficiency. “With BECK as a strong partner, we can provide our customers with Dietrich’s and DC-Statik, a unique tool that significantly simplifies the dimensioning and planning of timber construction projects,” adds Andreas Buck, project manager at Dietrich’s. “Our common goal is to increase efficiency in timber construction and establish sustainable solutions.”

The cooperation emphasizes the strong innovative character of both companies and opens up new ways of digitalization in timber construction. LIGNOLOC® wooden nails from BECK as a sustainable alternative to conventional fastening systems and Dietrich’s as a pioneer in the field of statics and planning software together set new standards for the future of timber construction.
