Shaping the future of construction together
Vienna (OTS) – With the support of FCP, the TU Wien is hosting BauXchange for the first time on March 7, 2024, a full-day workshop with several keynotes under the motto “Shaping the future together” – and invites the entire construction industry to actively participate in the change!
The TU Vienna (Institute for Construction and Construction Management), with the support of the engineering firm FCP, is hosting the all-day BauXchange workshop for the first time in the dome hall of the TU Vienna on March 7, 2024. Representatives of construction, planning, research and clients are invited to actively participate in the change in the construction industry and to work together to develop solutions to further advance the industry. The aim of the interactive event is to share existing knowledge in order to better manage the various interests and challenges of the construction industry in the long term. For the organizers, open dialogue, communication and networking are the key to successful change and sustainable change.
Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. Frank Lulei, head of the Institute for Construction and Construction Management at the TU Vienna, sees the BauXchange as a relevant platform for interdisciplinary exchange. “We also pursue a practice-oriented approach in research. The BauXchange offers a valuable opportunity for participants to share and further develop findings from research and practice. We cordially invite everyone interested to take part in the BauXchange workshop and shape the future of the construction industry together.
“
FROM Robert SchedlerManaging Director of FCP, adds: “At a time when innovation and collaboration are crucial to meet growing demands, BauXchange is an essential step in bringing professionals and companies together and developing a shared vision for the future of the construction industry.
Schedler sees the BauXchange as an important source of inspiration to further advance the digital and sustainable transformation in the construction industry.
„As civil engineers, we are a relevant part of the change. In our area of responsibility, everyone involved in a construction project meets. That’s why we see it as our responsibility to sustainably drive change, promote innovation and strengthen networking with each other
“, Schedler continued.
What does the construction of tomorrow need?
In order to answer this relevant question, the participants approach the topic together in keynotes. The comprehensive field of the construction industry is divided into four subject areas: people, digitalization, sustainability and change. While the “People” area reflects, among other things, the social skills of those involved in connection with training and further education, the “Digitalization” area deals with how digital tools can best support the construction industry. In the “Sustainability” area, participants question how sustainable construction can strengthen competitiveness. In order to identify the real potential for change and how a successful “change” can be achieved, “change” is developed in a joint dialogue.
What awaits the participants?
The participants can expect an exciting day with inspiring keynotes from Prof. Frank Lulei (TU Vienna), DI Stefan Graf (CEO Leyrer+Graf), Prof. Ina Goller (BFH Bern) and lawyer Dr. Martin Schiefer (Schiefer Lawyers). The key topics of people, digitalization, sustainability and change are discussed. Dr. Niki Popper from TU Vienna will give a talk as a special guest in the afternoon session.
Furthermore, the participants discuss the four main topics in small groups in the form of a world café with well-known representatives from the construction industry and develop concrete measures for action. At the end, the individual group results are presented as a roadmap for the future of construction. Afterwards, participants can expect a final evening with musical accompaniment as well as food and drinks. Nice goodie: The results of the BauXchange will be presented at the construction congress in April 2024.
Representatives from well-known companies such as Wiener Linien, Strabag, PORR or Swietelsky, but also from research institutions such as Graz University of Technology, have already registered for the BauXchange workshop in order to enter into dialogue and actively shape change.
You and your colleagues can also be part of it and actively shape the future of construction!
