In the ORF night talk “Stöckl” on December 21st at 11:05 p.m. on ORF 2

Vienna (OTS) In the current edition of the ORF night talk “Stöckl” on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:05 p.m. on ORF 2, the actors and cabaret artists Manuel Rubey and Simon Schwarz, Bishop Hermann Glettler, toque chef Lisl Wagner-Bacher and philosopher will be featured Lisz Hirn visits Barbara Stöckl:

The actors Manuel Rubey and Simon Schwarz, well-known from film and television, have been friends for years. Their first joint cabaret program “The Restaurant” will start in January 2024. The fact that this even happened has to do with their podcast “Rubey & Schwarz” and mutual blackmail. They tell Barbara Stöckl not only about this, but also about their similar childhood experiences.

Bishop Hermann Glettler works as a preacher and pastor in many places at Christmas time – but there is always time for Christmas cookies. In the night talk “Stöckl”, the Styrian native, who has held the episcopal office in Innsbruck since 2017, talks about his new book “hörgott”, a collection of prayers for all situations in life. His urgent appeal: “We have to get back into direct encounters and exchanges and Christmas is the time to reflect on exactly that.”

Award-winning chef Lisl Wagner-Bacher looks back on an eventful anniversary year in the Nighttalk. 40 years ago, the title of “Chef of the Year” was awarded for the first time in the German-speaking world by the Gault-Millau restaurant guide – with this recognition in 1983, she was not only the first woman, but also the first person in the German-speaking culinary industry to receive this honor. The long-time restaurateur also celebrated her 70th birthday this year. Wagner-Bacher, who handed over her business – the Landhaus Bacher – to her son-in-law Thomas and her daughter Susanne in 2013, is far from thinking about retirement.

In her current book, philosopher Lisz Hirn deals with the “overrated human being”. The thesis goes that overestimation of oneself has led to the crises in which we currently find ourselves. The much-travelled university lecturer emphasizes the role that allowing vulnerability plays in all this in an interview with “Stöckl”.
