In the ORF night talk “Stöckl” on March 21st at 11:05 p.m. on ORF 2
Vienna (OTS) – In the current edition of the ORF night talk “Stöckl” on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 11:05 p.m. on ORF 2, singer Christina Stürmer, Austro-pop legend Wolfgang Ambros and actress and singer Ursula Strauss will be guests of Barbara Stöckl:
Christina Stuermer celebrates her 20th stage anniversary with the album “Christina Stuermer – MTV Unplugged in Vienna” recorded at the Volkstheater. Participation in the ORF casting show “Starmania” helped the artist gain national fame in 2003 – even though it was only enough for second place at the time. Today she is one of the most famous Austrian singers, having sold around two million records. In a personal conversation with presenter Barbara Stöckl, she tells how the native Upper Austrian reacts to fans who can sing along to her hits from memory and what she feels when she is allowed to play her music on stage.
During the recordings at the Volkstheater, none other than Austro-pop legend Wolfgang Ambros was there as a duet partner. Together with Striker, he reinterpreted his classic song “You are like the Wintasun”. There is hardly an Austrian musician with more stage experience – the 72-year-old knows very well what it means to give a concert in front of hundreds of thousands of people. How does the thoroughbred musician look back on a long and eventful career? How does he look forward? And why does he know how a record is pressed? He talks about this in the night talk “Stöckl”.
The multi-award-winning actress Ursula Strauss was also asked to perform a duet by Christina Stürmer. She has only been active musically for a few years, although music was already part of her identity as a child. In between, Strauss made a name for herself among local audiences as a popular actress in films and series. At the side of Viennese song singers such as Ernst Molden, Nino from Vienna and BartolomeyBittmann, the native of Lower Austria now performs soulful ballads at concerts at home and abroad.
