The new federal government plans to present a national climate law before the summer. Against this background, the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of the “climate -based” gains importance: it obliges states to protect fundamental rights through effective climate protection. Greenpeace and Ökobüro show in a background discussion what consequences of international law that has for Austria – and what a strong climate law has to do.
