90,000 children in Austria will attend the fourth grade of elementary school in the 2024/25 school year and can take the voluntary cycling test. This means that they can cycle on public roads before the age of 12 without being accompanied by an adult. The offer of the Austrian Youth Red Cross (ÖJRK) with its partners Road Safety Board (KfV), AUVA, ÖAMTC, police and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) is the first and only opportunity for many children to learn the meaning of traffic signs to orient yourself safely in traffic and avoid accidents.
