Taking away children’s fears of visiting the doctor or staying in the hospital – that is the central aim of the “Teddy Bear Hospital” campaign. This initiative is a collaboration between the Medical University of Vienna, the Austrian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA), the Chamber of Physicians in Vienna and the Academic Association of Austrian Pharmacists.
From Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, to Thursday, December 5th, 2024, the hospital in the chamber for doctors in Vienna (Weihburggasse 10-12, 1010 Vienna, 1st floor) will open its doors to all teddy bears and cuddly toys and dolls. Registered kindergarten and school classes are welcome in the mornings (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.), while private individuals can come by with their small patients in the afternoons (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.).
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, media representatives will have the opportunity to take photos of the teddy bear examinations and operations at 9 a.m. in the Chamber of Physicians in Vienna. Anita Holzinger, Curriculum Director for Dentistry and Deputy Head of the Teaching Center at MedUni Vienna, and Johannes Steinhart, President of the Chamber of Physicians in Vienna and the Austrian Medical Association, will be present at this appointment.
