The Heinrich Treichl Foundation’s Humanity Prize will be awarded by Gerald Creator, President of the Austrian Red Cross, at a celebratory gala in the Haus der Musik.
This year’s award winners are:
- Alexandra Föderl-Schmid, Head of news at the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, previously editor-in-chief and co-publisher of the daily newspaper “Der Standard”, for her journalistic achievements on humanitarian issues, human rights and social commitment.
- Siegfried Meryn, Long-time supporter of the Austrian Red Cross in ORF health formats, as well as initiator, founder and chairman of the CAPE 10 Foundation, which promotes inclusion, participation, as well as cultural and social togetherness. The goal of the non-profit CAPE 10 Foundation is to improve health care and educational opportunities for children and young people.
- Vöslauer Mineralwasser GmbH, Partner of the Austrian Red Cross for 18 years in long-term water projects and efforts to combat hygiene-related illnesses and dehydration from East Timor to East Africa.

With the Heinrich Treichl Foundation’s Humanity Prize, the Red Cross has been honoring people since 1993 and, since 2018, companies for their outstanding humanitarian commitment. It is named after the well-known banker and former Red Cross President Heinrich Treichl, in whose honor the Red Cross Foundation was founded. Previous award winners include Ute Bock, Christoph Badelt and Gregor Seberg.
