Experts from Austrian aid organizations explain at a press conference why international humanitarian law is non-negotiable and how the next federal government should upgrade Austrian humanitarian aid in order to be able to really tackle the global crises of the coming years World Humanitarian Day. They will present their demands to the government.

300 million people are dependent on humanitarian aid, and up to 757 million do not have enough to eat. If global warming increases by 2°C, over a billion could go hungry. These people want to live in a safe world just like we do in Austriabut only 40% of total humanitarian financing needs are met. Aid organizations continue their operations undeterred, even though their access to people in need is limited in many conflict areas and they themselves are becoming targets.
The AG GLOBALE RESPONSIBILITY is the umbrella organization of 36 Austrian NGOs for international development and humanitarian aid. Our member organizations carry out 1,000 projects every year in over 120 countries around the world, contributing to a decent life for everyone on a healthy planet.
