AVISO: LINKS presents the deposit ring campaign

In keeping with the start of the one-way deposit system in Austria, LINKS in Vienna is calling for so-called deposit rings: holders for bottles and containers outside the garbage cans in order to make deposits available for neatly collected collection. In addition to applications from LINKS district councilors in several districts of Vienna, the activists are also launching a campaign with their own deposit ring prototypes.

The district parliaments in Vienna work differently. While LINKS district councilor at Alsergrund, Kurto Wendt, found a large majority for the application, with only the FPÖ voting against it, Christin Spormann’s application in Penzing was not even allowed to be voted on by the district leadership, i.e. the SPÖ. Reason: Lack of district relevance. Spormann said: “We’re not waiting for the sluggish city administration to do something, but are presenting a prototype that a LINKS activist made from recycled material and produced himself using a 3D printer. We present it and discuss with the public what they think of the idea.“

The presentation of the LINKS deposit rings takes place on Wednesday, January 15th at 12 p.m. in front of the LINKS party location at Veronikagasse 10, 1170 instead of. There is the opportunity for photos and interviews with LINKS district councilors and passers-by.
