LH Mikl-Leitner pays tribute to the writer
St. Pölten (OTS/NLK) – The writer and journalist Ilse Helbich, who celebrated her 100th birthday last October and only published her first novel at the age of 80, died yesterday. “In 20 years, Ilse Helbich published a total of 13 books and with her impressive linguistic skills she created works that were second to none,” said State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner in tribute to the artist. In 2018, Helbich was awarded the Lower Austrian State Culture Prize for Literature for her work. In the same year, her literary collection was purchased by the Documentation Center for Literature in Lower Austria.
