The Austrian Post is modernizing its fleet of company vehicles and is increasingly relying on the model range from the German manufacturer BMW. Since March 2022, the postal service has only been purchasing electric vehicles for deliveries. The electric drive is also becoming the norm for company vehicles with their special requirements – sales appointments, field service, pool vehicles, etc. New purchases almost exclusively involve electric vehicles, while combustion engines are gradually being phased out.
„With the BMW Group, we are relying on a European manufacturer that offers high-performance electric vehicles at attractive overall costs over the life cycle and also produces engines in Austria. Added to this are short delivery times and a comprehensive network of workshops. Our company vehicle fleet, which includes almost 700 vehicles, will gain significant momentum with the addition of BMW.

A first tranche of vehicles was ordered from the BMW Group in Austria in autumn 2024, including the BMW iX1, BMW i4 and BMW i5 models. Further vehicle tranches will follow.
