Austrian Council for the Disabled welcomes the federal funding guidelines for inclusive work

Participation of people with disabilities in the primary labor market is improved

This funding guideline strengthens the professional participation of people with disabilities. It enables people with a high and very high need for support to be able to earn a living in the primary labor market and is therefore a step in the right direction. It is now important that the projects get off the ground as quickly as possible so that people with disabilities can too actually benefit from it.

Klaus Widl, President of the Austrian Council for the Disabled

Vienna (OTS) The “inclusive work” funding guidelines published today by the Ministry of Social Affairs finance projects in all nine federal states that support people with disabilities who are currently employed in day-structured facilities in the federal states and who only have accident insurance or only pocket money of EUR 35 for their work receive up to EUR 100, enable a switch to the open labor market.
This can be implemented either in an inclusive model on the primary labor market, in an integrative model (e.g. as part of a non-profit temporary workforce) or in an innovative project in an organizationally and/or spatially delimited area of an existing facility.
What is the same in all three models is that wages must be based on collective agreements, employment must take place within the framework of real employment contracts and the people must be fully insured in social security.

The Ministry of Social Affairs is making a total of EUR 36 million available for corresponding projects until 2026, with the states covering another third of the costs, so that a total of EUR 54 million is available.
