Austria House Tirol ceremoniously opened in 2024: Tyrol shows its diversity on the Seine

The Austria House Tirol was opened with a lot of celebrities one day before the official opening of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. As a partner of the ÖOC, the lebensraum Tirol Group also offers a stage there for representatives of Tyrol’s economy, science, culture, cuisine and sport. During TV discussions, two Tyrolean companies impressed with their international success stories.

Tyrol’s LH deputy and sports councilor Georg Dornauer was impressed by the performance of his homeland: “As a sports country, Tyrol is not only well represented in sports at the Summer Olympics with numerous top athletes, but is also an absolute contender for a medal at the Austria House Tirol. In the coming weeks we will represent our country outside of the Olympic competitions and strengthen the Tyrol brand internationally.”

The Habitat Tirol Group, which, in addition to Tirol Advertising, also includes the Tirol Agricultural Marketing and Location Agency, is responsible for the implementation of the Tirol presence in Paris on behalf of the State of Tyrol. “The listed house in the middle of the green oasis of Montsouris offers us a good opportunity to present Tyrol in all its diversity in a natural context,” explained Karin Seiler, member of the management board of the Wohnungs Tirol Group. “In Paris we want to highlight the well-known and lesser-known strengths of our country and use the attention surrounding the Olympic Games to make the Tirol brand and our products and services internationally visible.”

TV discussions with prominent Tyrolean participation

The Austria House Tirol television studio was used for three TV talks at the start. Tyrolean excellence and companies were also in the spotlight: Edwin Meindlmanaging director of the East Tyrolean tech company MICADO, discussed the business talk with the state secretary Susanne Kraus WinklerWK General Secretary Karlheinz headÖOC President Karl Stoss and Edwin von Lambaart, General Director of Austrian Lotteries. The East Tyroleans are currently causing a stir in Paris as suppliers of parts for the “Volocopter taxis” – President Macron granted flight permission for the drone taxis at the start of the Olympic Games.

In the talk about Tyrol’s top achievements in the areas of health, medicine and tourism, the ÖW boss sat next to her Astrid Steharnig-Staudinger with Karin SeilerCEO of Tirol Advertising, trauma surgeon Christian FinkAlpinmediziner Wolfgang Schobersberger and Caroline Greinermanaging director of the medical diagnostics company Ergospect, four Tyroleans on the podium.

Greiner reports on the medical technology company that was founded in 2008 as a university spin-off project based in Innsbruck and that today uses specially developed technology to enable the combination of moving image and magnetic resonance diagnostics for the first time.

In addition, a discussion on the topic of “Olympics, sport and politics” was recorded, with Tyrol’s professional golfer taking part Christine Wolf also Christoph Sieber (Olympian and Head of Sports ÖOC), Peter Filzmaier (political scientist and author) and Michael Schuen (head of the sports department of the Kleine Zeitung) took part.
