Jakarta, Indonesia (ots/PRNewswire) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo took part in the opening of the Expo UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILLIANTPRENEUR 2023 the BRI, which took place on December 7, 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). The event is part of the bank’s 128th anniversary celebrations and serves as a platform for Indonesia’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to meet international buyers, thereby promoting SME growth. Under the theme “Crafting Global Connection”, 700 SMEs will take part in the three-day event, which marks the 5th edition of this expo.
The President praised the BRI’s commitment to promoting Indonesian SMEs, saying: “Our SMEs need to develop their position, embrace digitalization, take international paths and take the lead over our local market, which is very large, without export and export.” international markets are neglected.

The Expo’s business agreements have recorded remarkable growth over the years: from $33.5 million in 2019 to $57.5 million in 2020, up from $72.1 million in the year 2021 up to $76.7 million in 2022. The goal this year is to secure contracts with a total value of $80 million.
The participants of the Expo are 700 selected SMEs from across the country, operating in 5 sectors: Home and Crafts, Beverages and Food, Accessories and Beauty, Fashion and Textiles, and Health and Wellness. BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023 aims to connect Indonesian SMEs with global markets to promote their expansion and increase national exports. This demonstrates the BRI’s commitment to supporting SMEs and is a testament to the competitiveness of Indonesian products in international markets.
