Vilnius, Lithuania, March 28, 2024 (ots/PRNewswire) – Yukon Group, Europe’s leading thermal imaging and night vision company, has launched the world’s first upgradeable thermal imaging monocular for civilian use. The Pulsar Telos LRF XP50 is an essential tool for hunters, explorers and rescuers everywhere.
“This device is the first of its kind in the field of optical technology. Our product allows users to seamlessly upgrade with improved features such as more powerful optics, higher resolution sensors or additional laser rangefinders – while maintaining their existing device. We are confident that the upgrade feature will also be used by other manufacturers in Europe and beyond,” said Yukon Group Managing Director Volha Alsheuskaya.
“The retrofitting is environmentally friendly. As part of Yukon Group’s commitment to reducing e-waste, the ability to add and swap features on the Telos LRF XP50 improves longevity and significantly reduces environmental impact,” she adds.
According to the United Nations, more than 80% of e-waste is not formally recycled. More than 50 million tons of electronic waste are now produced every year – and the trend is rising.
The Telos LRF XP50 is sustainable and durable and embodies Yukon Group’s core mission to evolve with users’ needs while providing exceptional longevity. The upgradeability ensures that the device remains future-proof and up-to-date with the latest thermal imaging technology. As soon as a new feature or upgrade becomes available, Telos LRF XP50 owners from all EU countries are encouraged to send their devices to the company to receive an update.
And the Telos LRF XP50 makes no compromises when it comes to it: performance. The device won the prestigious Innovative Product of the Year award at the 2024 British Shooting Show.
“Global competition drives us every year, if not every month. Our industry partners agree that technological development in the hunting and outdoor industry is progressing exceptionally quickly. This rapid pace leads to an overproduction of devices with difficult-to-recycle parts. We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment while ensuring Yukon’s technology remains state-of-the-art,” said Alsheuskaya.
“The Telos LRF XP50 complies with EU sustainability regulations, which incentivize companies to produce and expand their use of more environmentally conscious products. Rather than prohibiting manufacturers from developing products with intentionally limited lifespans, these regulations encourage the provision of software updates, consumables and replacement parts to extend the longevity of their devices. This mentality of responsible use of resources is fundamental to the Yukon Group,” says Managing Director Alsheuskaya.
Referring to the Telos LRF XP50, she called on companies to better integrate sustainability principles into their products, as traditional measures to reduce carbon emissions are often not enough to adequately address environmental concerns.
